Candy Crush Soda Saga is one of the most successful mobile puzzle games in the world, requiring continuous UI/UX evolution while maintaining familiarity for long-term players.

My role focused on improving player readability, event engagement, and social interaction systems while supporting live-ops production pipelines.

I was involved across the full UI/UX pipeline, contributing from early concepts to final implementation.

This hands-on approach ensured that ideas translated smoothly into polished in-game features.

The project involved tackling several technical challenges, particularly around integrating new features into an existing live ecosystem.

Working closely with the Tech Art team, we developed solutions that allowed for smooth implementation without compromising performance or visual quality.

IMPACT

This experience allowed me to blend creativity with technical problem-solving, contributing to a more dynamic and engaging player experience. By combining thoughtful UX design with polished UI visuals and strong collaboration, we introduced features that enhanced usability, retention and player enjoyment.

Episode Race

User flows and wireframes focused on clear progression tracking, readability, and reducing cognitive load, while designing a dynamic and rewarding interface that emphasized progression visualization, ranking feedback, and celebratory moments.

Through rapid prototyping and iteration, I refined the feature to improve clarity, pacing, and emotional feedback, collaborating closely with game designers and developers to ensure smooth in-engine implementation, including UI behaviors, animations, and responsive layouts.

Conclusion

The Episode Race feature successfully transformed progression into a more engaging and social experience. By combining competition, rewards, and clear progression feedback, the feature increased player motivation, longer play sessions, and overall engagement while remaining accessible for casual players.

Connect 4 Together

For this feature, I focused on improving the overall cooperative gameplay experience by making multiplayer interactions feel smooth, readable, and rewarding. I designed systems that helped players quickly understand turns, teammate actions, and match status, while creating a more social and approachable visual experience.

By iterating closely with designers and developers, I refined gameplay feedback, interaction timing, animations, and adaptive UI layouts to ensure the feature remained clear, responsive, and enjoyable across different gameplay situation

Conclusion

Connect-4 Together successfully created a more social and collaborative gameplay experience. By combining accessible multiplayer mechanics, clear communication, and rewarding cooperative interactions, the feature increased engagement, player retention, and overall social connection within the game.

Bake a Cake

I worked on the Bake a Cake feature from a UI/UX perspective to increase player engagement through collaborative goals, progression rewards, and community participation. The feature encouraged players to contribute collectively toward building and completing a cake to unlock rewards and progression incentives. I focused on creating an accessible and rewarding experience by designing the UX flows, wireframes, progression tracking, contribution feedback, and celebratory moments.

The visual design emphasized playful interactions, clear progression visualization, and emotional reward feedback to motivate participation. I also worked closely with game designers and developers during implementation to ensure smooth UI behavior, responsive layouts, animations, and integration in-engine. Through prototyping and iteration, the feature successfully created a fun and social progression experience that increased engagement, retention, and player participation.

Soda Chat

This feature was a challenge from the start, mainly because the engine didn’t yet support the required functionality.

I was responsible for designing the user experience, working closely with the Tech team to define and communicate the features needed to bring the chat system to life. Throughout the process, I also created the user interface, layouts, and animations, ensuring the feature felt polished and cohesive within the game experience.
