In early 2021, during the height of the pandemic, I joined Rovio and relocated to Stockholm. As a Senior UI/UX Designer stepping into a leadership role, I contributed to one of the most iconic mobile games, focusing on elevating both the visual quality and overall player experience.


Driving Creative Vision

When I was promoted to Lead UI/UX Artist and Art Lead on Angry Birds 2, I was responsible for shaping the creative direction of the game's interface and visual language. My goal was to ensure a cohesive, polished, and engaging experience that aligns with the brand while continuously evolving to meet player expectations.

  • Defining and maintaining the UI visual style and quality bar

  • Leading the design of new features and improving existing systems

  • Ensuring consistency and clarity across all player touchpoints

  • Balancing aesthetics with usability to enhance engagement


Enhancing the Player Experience

My work focused on making interfaces more intuitive, appealing, and responsive to player needs. From refining micro-interactions to improving navigation and feedback systems, every detail was crafted to support a seamless and enjoyable gameplay experience.


Collaboration & Culture

Working on Angry Birds 2 was an enriching experience, not only because of the product but also due to the team culture. The team operates with a flat hierarchy, encouraging transparency, ownership, and open communication.

  • Continuously explored new ways to improve UI/UX across the game

  • Iterated on design processes, tools, and workflows

  • Fostered a supportive, inclusive, and respectful team culture

  • Embraced learning through both successes and failures


Impact

This experience allowed me to grow as both a designer and a leader. By combining creative direction with hands-on execution and strong collaboration, I helped push the UI/UX quality of a live, globally successful game while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
