Role: Senior UI/UX Artist
Company: King (in collaboration with Stockholm HQ)
Project: Candy Crush Soda Saga

In collaboration with the Stockholm headquarters, I had the opportunity to contribute to the vibrant world of Candy Crush Soda Saga. As a Senior UI/UX Artist, I worked on refreshing the game’s interface, introducing new social features, and evolving the overall user experience.


Expanding the Experience

The goal was to bring a fresh perspective to a live and highly successful game, enhancing both usability and player engagement. This included rethinking interface elements and designing new ways for players to connect and interact within the game.


End-to-End Design Process

I was involved across the full UI/UX pipeline, contributing from early concepts to final implementation. This hands-on approach ensured that ideas translated smoothly into polished in-game features.

  • Prototyping and user testing to validate design decisions

  • Creating wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity mock-ups

  • Designing interactive UI elements and social features

  • Implementing animations, visual effects, and final assets in-engine


Technical Collaboration

The project involved tackling several technical challenges, particularly around integrating new features into an existing live ecosystem. Working closely with the Tech Art team, we developed solutions that allowed for smooth implementation without compromising performance or visual quality.

  • Bridge design and technical constraints effectively

  • Create scalable and maintainable UI solutions

  • Ensure a seamless player experience across all features


Impact

This experience allowed me to blend creativity with technical problem-solving, contributing to a more dynamic and engaging player experience. By combining thoughtful UX design with polished visuals and strong collaboration, we introduced features that enhanced both usability and player enjoyment.
